A: You could say that there's some signals going around her head that don't make sense and they're drowning out the rest of the world. A: When I was first diagnosed as manic bi-polar resperdal was one of the drugs that didn't work for me..this does not mean that it doesn't or won't work for you..it took my doc 8 months to get me on the right meds for my condition. Q: What happens if you forget to take Risperdal a few times?
I used to take Celexa and Risperdal at night. Well my doctor switched me from Celexa to Lexapro, but I'm still supposed to take the Risperdal. Well, I keep forgetting the Risperdal now, because I keep getting it in my head that I'm on a new med now, and I take the Lexapro but then forget the Risperdal. I've remembered a few times very late at night/early morning, and taken it then. But I'm afraid I may have forgotten totally some nights.

A: Start by getting one of those pill containers for each day of the week that are also for AM and PM. Put a week's worth of your meds in there. Make a calendar, for every night that you take all the medication in that container for that day or evening, mark it off. Missing more than 3 or more days of any antidepressant or antianxiety med can throw your "balance" off. Let your doctor know. Do not start up again on the medication until you have.

Q: What happens when you take zoloft and risperdal together at the same time?
like if i take zoloft and risperdal together? is that harmful? watll happen?

A: There are no interaction between those drugs and there are many who take them including my dead grandfather who was on this combo for ten year minimum, and probably closer to 15. He took xanax on top of that all for treating obsessive compulsive disorder, but it could treat other things as well. I am not giving you advice though. If you call the pharmacy they will tell you if these or anything else you take has an interaction, and you can call your doctor to get the go ahead to take them.

Q: How can I get over the constipation that Risperdal gives me?
I've been taking risperdal for a couple of months and can't get over the constipation it gives me. I have to wait until the weekend when I'm not working, and take laxatives. Vegetable laxative doesn't seem to work. I've tried fiber pills also. I can't afford to be on zyprexa like I used to be on. What can I do?

A: Eat 5 prunes a day. This is not expensive and if you think you don't like prunes, you may be surprised. Also eat as healthy of a diet as you can with lots of fiber. Also coffee is a good laxative too.

Q: My son was taking Cognetin to treat the side effects of risperdal?
He took the drug for 18 days and then when he got out of the hospital he stopped taking it (that was yesterday). The cognetin was suppose to take care of the side effects of the risperdal instead they had side effects all their own namely ED. My son is 22 and would like to know how long before he goes back to normal so to speak. Thanks in advance.

A: anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. my son took cogentin. it had too many side effects. tell your son it will be ok soon. you can look up any medicine on drugs.com. ed is one of the side effects from cogentin. by not taking it, the side effects will go away.

Q: Do you know a natural treatment to get rid of neuroleptics like Depakote,Risperdal?
I have an autistic son who is taking depakote and risperdal to control his self injury and agitation. I have read about B6-Magnesium-DMG vitamin treatment to control aggressive behavior in autistics. A: I am sure I am not going to be chosen for the best answer by you, but there are no supplements to get rid of risperdal and depakote. None what so ever. If you have doubts, see another child psychiatrist to make sure your son needs these meds, or to discuss other medicinal options. But don't go through this other route, there is nothing wrong with drugs, as a mater of fact the only difference between natural treatments and drugs is that drugs are tested better.

Q: Why do I always feel mentally unstable after taking Risperdal?
Right after I take Risperdal, I feel very jumpy and unstable. And when I wake up in the morning, I feel fine again. What could this be? Thanks for your answer. I did actually go from 4 mg's to 3 mg's and it seemed to help.

A: this might not be the right meds for you! how long have you been on it?? try taking less a dose, or taking it right before you go to sleep, literally. tell your dr what is going on,. good luck

Q: Can risperdal and melatonin be taken together?
I'm on risperdal but the dosage isn't quite right yet so it doesn't really help me sleep. I'd like to take melatonin because it does work to help me get to sleep and stay asleep through the night.

I am taking Risperdal oral to see if I have any side effects of it and if not I will take the injection form. What are the side effects of the two?

A: It depends it can be different for dif people but it causes ur breasts to swell from the increased prolactin which is an estrogen, if u r a woman it can actually have the same effect as the pill. U might get a small amount of weight gain but that only depends on how much u eat, i kno when i was on it i didn't feel any hungrier so didn't gain weight. It reduces ur dopamine so u may find it hard to concentrate and think clearly is a very common side affect. My personel feeling on the drug was it took away my desire to do anything like i wouldn't go researching conspiracies or anything supernatural and just plainly other stuff that had interested me. Other long term affects can be diebetes, tardive diskinisea where u move body parts like ur tongue unwillingly or tardive dementia. Not to mention u may feel extreme restlessness i kno i did. So basically i switched to the latest top of the line anti-psychotic abilify it's not as strong as respiridone and gives u more freedom to be urself and enjoy life without brainwashing ur mind like i felt respiridone does.

Q: Is it okay to take risperdal and ambien?
I took a 10mg ambien last night around 11pm and want to take risperdal tonight around 730pm -8:00 , (without the ambien tonight) just worried that they could interact somehow, havent been sleeping and taking risperdal is the only thing that helps sometimes. Also took ]codeine at 6am is there any interaction with these drugs , being that I am taking them spaced apart?

A: There is a possibility of a moderate drug-drug interaction between these drugs. However, it may not occur in everybody taking these drugs together. So you could take these medicines together but it would be a good idea not to be alone when you take the first concommitant doses, just in case you did have any CNS or respiratory depression.
