Q: What is the latest and most effective drug for stomach ulcer in market?
A: Most stomach ulcers can be treated with antibiotics, since they are caused by h-pyelori bacteria.
Q: How can you prevent stomach ulcers when taking anti-inflammatory drugs regularly?
A: I take anti-inflammatories for my arthritic knee, and my GP has prescribed Omeprazole, gastro-resistant capsule for precisely that reason.
I'd suggest asking your GP about getting something similar for you.
Q: does taking of antibiotic drugs has any connection with stomach ulcers?
there is a time when i contracted with std and put under antibiotic treament but immediately after taking the drugs i started showing some stomach ulcer symptoms. so i want to know whether there is any relationship between antibiotic tablets and stomach ulcers
A: It could have something to do with it but unlikely. It could be that you took the ABs on an empty stomach which then made your stomach lining more suseptable to ulcers which you may have already had. It could also depend on what type of ABs you were taking.
Q: What is the best treatment regimen for a stomach ulcer.?
Please don't advise on precautionary measures, only on a true effective treatment regimen which includes antibiotics. I'm allergic to Penicillin, and Sulfa drugs.
A: Divorce! LOL.
Seriously, my doctor put me on Aciphex. I was found at that time to have a staph infection of the upper spine, and lungs. He put me on Cipro, as well. The Cipro got rid of the infection, and as a side effect, the ulcer was calmed down. He then gave me the Aciphex, and all has been well since. I do not know if Cipro is one of these you are allergic to, but you could speak with your doctor to find a suitable treatment with different medications. Please do not let it go like my brother did. His started bleeding out, and he darn near bled to death before the doctors figured out his ulcer had ruptured.
Q: Is it possible to be a hypochondriac with a phobia of a disease and worry yourself to a stomach ulcer???
Hello. I am 19 years old. Contained lifestyle. I am a hypochondriac, worrying with rare illness. I also suffer from a phobia of HIV.
I am a virgin, saving myself for marriage. I have never used IV drugs. My parents are healthy. And to my knowledge, I have never been pricked with a contaminated needle. Also, I have taken 4 HIV tests in the past year and they have all came back clean, thank God.
So my mom thinks that I have this stomach ulcer from all of the worrying about sickness that I do. I am nauseous after certain foods eaten. I throw up a majority of the time that I am feeling sick. But if I eat Lipton noodles or Mini wheats, I am fine. It is with certain foods that make me sick. And the weird thing is that I used to be fine by eating them.
Have I literally worried myself sick? Do I have HIV????
A: Yes you are making yourself sick. And no you dont have HIV.
Q: Somebody help me out! Is this stomach ulcer, or an infection, nothings working?
I have stomach cramps and I had seen a doc sometime ago, he said it was duodenal ulcer but now the drugs dont seem to work anymore. what do I take?
A: If the drugs do not work, there could be complications, or you simply could have built up an immunity to them. You should revisit the doctor.
Q: How can you tell if a stomach ulcer is caused by H.pylori bacteria or NSAIDs??
Contrary to popular belief, stomach ulcers are caused by H.pylori bacteria or NSAIDs, not by stress, alcohol or spicy foods.
back in october i went to the doc coz my wrist was swollen, it hurt like hell and I couldnt move it. He prescribed me NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). I took them for about a week, two/three times a day.
At the end of november my stomach started to hurt everytime I ate. I would have two bites and felt full. I wasn't eating anything that I wasn't use to.
How can I tell (without blood test or any kind of test) if the ulcer was caused by the H.pylori bacteria or by the NSAIDs i was prescribed for my wrist?
A: To my understanding, you can't. I tested positive for H.pylori last summer after the same symptoms you describe. I also have and was taking a lot of NSAIDs for a long period of time for other problems. If you only took NSAIDs for a short period of time for your wrist, and that was it, it's most likely the H.pylori.
Have you been treated or tested for H.pylori? (I was but am not 100% convinced the antibiotics worked.)
Q: I’m unable to digest hard foods like mutton, produces cramp colic. But poultry is easy to digest. How can I cu
I have been suffered by peptic and stomach ulcer for 7 years, and had taken drugs. Ulcer cured but digestion problem began. Please tell me the cure for strengthen my inner parts.
A: try taking digestive enzymes with foods you have problems with. I'm not sure what cramp colic is, it sounds like painful gas? in which case eating yogurt may help, or taking Phazyme or other simethicone afterward. You also might have a food sensitivity or allergy, so eating the foods that hurt might not be a good idea.
Q: stomach ulcer or just too much alcohol?
Last night I drank about ten on an empty stomach. I hadn't eaten in over 24 hours and I mixed beer and rum. Bad idea, I know, but what's done is done. I started getting sick around 10pm and had my last drink shortly before that. It's now noon the following day and I'm still real sick. I can't eat or drink anything without vomiting. What really concerns me though is there's some blood in the vomit. I have some of the symptoms of a stomach ulcer and I've always had stomach pain, especially after I eat. I also have a history of heavy drug use, but haven't used anything recently. At what point should I decide it's not just a hangover and go see a doctor?
A: Bad idea to drink when you have been experiencing stomach pain. Now the blood may be coming from small capillaries that have burst from the vomiting.
But then it also may indeed be an ulcer.
This is so easy to check. the H. Pyloric Bacterium almost always causes ulcers, and can be found with a simple blood test.
I had an ulcer perforate my stomach and dump the contents of the stomach into the abdominal cavity, and I got peritonitis and almost died, so it is not a good idea to wait around.
See your doctor asap.

Q: Why is it not recommended to drink wine with some medicine/drugs.?
Is it due to the risk of stomach ulcers OR (completely different) - due to reducing the drug's effect? THANKS.
A: The tyramine in wine can interact with a class of drugs called MAOI's causing a hypotensive crisis.
Q: possible ulcer at start of stomach.?
can only eat half of a sandwich then the pain gets real bad...after 5 minutes can eat more...is this ulcer and what drug helps..???
A: The only way to know for sure what the problem is is to see your doctor. I have had stomach ulcers in the past and was prescribed aciphex which worked well.
Q: I take five tablets every day. How can I protect my stomach from ulcers or anything?
The drugs are propranolol, trazodone and levetiracetam.
I want to avoid damage to myself but keep my medicines.
A: stomach ulcers are actually mainly (80%) caused by the bacteria Infection by Helicobacter pylori hence preventing them is actually quite difficult.
however, anti-inflammatory drugs are sometimes called non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs sometimes affect the mucus barrier of the stomach and expose the stomach lining to the acid and this may allow acid to cause an ulcer. About 2 in 10 stomach ulcers are caused by anti-inflammatory drugs.
Q: I have a stomach ulcer.....?
I have been to all kinds of doctors and been put on every pres..drug you can think of and nothing helps the burn????
A: Ok I was diagnosed with Peptic Uclers a long time ago. So, unfortunatly this really sucks. Are you sure that is a stomach Ucler or do you have something called H-Pollari? This is a bacteria that causes the Ucler. Have they been putting you on two to three types of meds, but increasing the doeses every couple of weeks. This Bacteria can be really hard to kill. This is what causes your stomach to hurt after you eat something. If you want to ease your stomach you have to eat in small portions and everything must be blaine. I no it sounds bad, but it is the only relieve that you might have. Also has the doctor given you the chalky medicine that you use about 30 min before you eat to ease the problem. If it was a really Ulcer they would summit you right away then you would be talking to a specialist. Have you had a Endo scoope done yet? Or have they given you a Colonoscopy yet? To see where the tare is. If it is a ulcer then you would be bleeding with a bowl movement or you would be bleeding when you throw up. Mine was in the upper part of my stomach. So when I ate somthing it would bother it and I would throw up my food and blood. I had to go to the emergancy room and they omitted me. Uclers are very seriouse so if you really think this is what you have then you need to stick with a doctor and force him to test you for everything. Then you need to ask to speak to a specialist. These things can kill you so I suggest finding a doctor that will take this matter further. This is the only way you get relieve. I was diagnosed three years ago. I went through surgery to fix it, but on ocassions I deal with the H-Pollari. But, I was told that it might be something I have to deal with my whole life. So, I'm on meds and off meds all the time.
