Q: im taking fluoxetine and pantoprazole what are the sides effects?
i got an allergic reaction all over my body after 4 days of taking it what should i do?
my lips are swelled up aswell.
A: I think it´s not an interaction between these two drugs but you´re probably allergic to pantoprazole, I suggest you stop taking pantoprazole if that´s the drug you took before the allergic reaction ocurred and tell it your doctor as soon as you can.

Q: Effects of Long term use of pantoprazole?
Does anyone know the effects long term use of pantoprazole & other PPI's have on the body.
Can these effects just develop after a few months of use or do they only start when you begin taking the medication?
A: Hi:
Check outMedlinePlus below for basic info. Also, your GP can help with specific symptoms. However, an extract from Drug Digest is:
"What side effects may I notice from taking pantoprazole?
Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:
•fever or sore throat
•redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
•skin rash, itching
•unusual bleeding or bruising
•unusual weakness or tiredness
•yellowing of the eyes or skin
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
•diarrhea
•dizziness
•dry skin
•headache
•nausea/vomiting
•stomach pain or gas
•tiredness
What should I watch for while taking pantoprazole?
It can take several days of therapy with pantoprazole before your stomach pains improve. Check with your prescriber or health care professional if your condition does not improve, or if it gets worse. You can take antacids for the occasional relief of stomach pain unless your prescriber or health care professional tells you otherwise."
Q: I'm having to take a perscription drug called pantoprazole. is there some over the counter remidys i can take?
i was in the hospital a month ago for gastritis pancreatic. ( I know i can's spell, oh well). I don't have insurance and had to pay like 120 bucks for my prescription. i need to know what natural or over the counter substitutes can i find. thank you.
A: Pantoprazole is used to treat GERD. There are a few herbs that are used to treat this condition. They are:
* Acorus calamus, Sweet Flag
* Elettaria cardamomum, Cardamon
* Filipendula ulmaria, Medowsweet
* Zingiber officinalis, Ginger
The cheapest solution is to buy some ginger at your local health food store and drink ginger tea a few times a day. A better but slightly more expensive solution is to go to a qualified herbalist and have them make you a tincture out of some or all of the above herbs.
Q: if I miss 2days of taking pantoprazole ?--will I do any damage ?
I let my refill run toolong before calling for the next refil, now I have to wait at least 2--3 days, is this bad ???
A: You'll be fine, you might have some bad heartburn.
Q: what is different between an ordinary pantoprazole & s (-) pantoprazole ?
A: I believe that it is the same medicine. This is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces acid in your stomach.
s(-) may just be referring to the active stereoisomer of the compound.
In nature our receptors can only accept one of the stereoisomers and not its mirror image. This is just plain organic chemistry.
pantoprazole would have both (+) and (-) forms and only the (-) form is the active form of the drug. It is chemical nomenclature that describes how the chemical entity will rotate light in a spectrophotometer. They are mirror images of each other in 4 dimensions.
I hope that I have not confused you.
Q: what about taking tramacet with pantoprazole sodium ec is there any side effects?
A: Please note that the best way to find out if you should mix any type of medication is to consult your doctor.
I recently took tamacet for the pain in my back, and I have to say it was the worse experience I have ever had with any medication. I was not taking any other type of medication, simply taking the tramacet, and I had hallucinations, I had a hard time breathing, I was shaking, I was sick, and not to mention very dizzy. This lasted all night, right into the morning.
I am not sure if you have been taking this medication for a while now, but I would definetely not mix it up with any other type of medication. Please be careful.
Q: Long term use of pantoprazole?
Does anyone know if long term use of pantoprazole & PPI's in general (almost six months) can cause constipation?
A: SIDE EFFECTS: Pantoprazole like other PPIs is well-tolerated. The most common side effects are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation, rash and headaches. Dizziness, nervousness, abnormal heartbeat, muscle pain, weakness, leg cramps and water retention rarely occur.
Q: When should I take pantoprazole medication?
Before or after a meal in the morning
A: Pantoprazole is a medicine of anti peptic ulcerant group which reduces the acid secretion. It gives the best results when taken 30-45 minutes before meals.Even if you take it with or after meals,it will be effective but not as effective if taken on empty stomach.Usually one cap.in the morning is sufficient to provide 24 hour cover.
Q: Gastritis, should i be taking pantoprazole?
The doc said i have gastritis and prescribed pantoprazole 40 mg , I've done some research and pantoprazole is a pretty strong drug (4 cases of death have been reported in older aged people) , should i be taking this for gastritis?
A: Pantoprazole is Protonix - a proton pump inhibitor similar to the over-the-coutner mediation Prilosec (omeprazole). It reduces acid production in the stomach and is therefore used to treat gastric ulcers and acid reflux disease (GERD).
You could potentially just as easily treat the gastritis yourself by taking over-the-counter prilosec.
But, pantoprazole is actually a very well tolerated and very safe drug.
Aspirin could be considered more dangerous...and has indirectly and directly caused more millions of more deaths than pantoprazole.
...though, aspirin is considered a very safe drug, too...if used appropriately.
Protonix is safe for pregnant women to take (a class B drug), though aspirin is not (a class D drug).
Hope this helps some...

what is the drug pantoprazole and what is it for
A: Pantoprazole is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, a condition in which backward flow of acid from the stomach causes heartburn and injury of the esophagus.

I feel acidic in my tummy, With this, can i still take my antacid? With most major foods a no-no for GERD what can i eat as alternative ?
A: Pantoprazole is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which backward flow of acid from the stomach causes heartburn and injury of the food pipe (esophagus). It is also used to treat conditions where the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Pantoprazole is in a class of medications called proton-pump inhibitors. It works by decreasing the amount of acid made in the stomach.
Please see the web pages for more details on Pantoprazole.
Q: What kind of heartburn medication do you take?
I get quite bad heartburn (usually at least 3 - 4 times a day and every night when I go to bed). Over the counter medicines such as gaviscon, etc. just don't quite cut it! I went to the doctor and was prescribed Somac tablets (pantoprazole). These work great but cost a lot ($30 for a pack of 30 tablets).
Has anyone else been prescribed heartburn medication for the doctor that they have found has worked well but is not too expensive?
Thanks!
A: you probably have an ulser you must get this chekedout before it gets to serious but i would try nexium thats a goodstomac pill and its not expensive at walmart. or aske your doctor for samples
Q: What i should do to stop reflux disiese?
My mom has reflux disease. she is 50 year and she have reflux since 45 year. when she is stressed the reflux increase. my mom use pantoprazole. this drug is not making effect 100%. she want to know how to stop this and do this drugs give bad effect.
A: Tell her to eat healthy, no fast foods, no spicy foods. Eat whole grains, nuts, fruits, veggies and especially greens, go easy on the coffee and especially limit alcohol consumption. Tell her to jog daily (or at least walk) for about a mile a day (or whatever she is comfortable with)
Acid reflux disease is not a "normal" thing, it may be common but it is not how the body is supposed to work and it is caused by many environmental factors, could be what she eats, smokes, drinks, allergies, stress like you said etc.
When she is stressed comfort her, in all healthy relationships we need love and love is a powerful medicine when you use it. With love you can comfort her, understand her, listen to her, have compassion and empathy for her and reassure her that she can make the acid reflux go away.
Try to get her to do new things (hobbies, going to the beach etc) fun things she might enjoy, this will help with the stress.
I hope for the best and that your mother will have no acid reflux soon!
also good idea to read articles on google about it, there may be other foods to avoid, certain foods that help etc. It seems everyone is using drugs these days for everything and it is not the way to go! Drugs are more foreign and unhealthy than the acid reflux.
