Q: What is the price of the medicine ,"Pariet" 20 mg,1 pack(14 tablets) in India?Especially in Kerala?
Does Pariet medicine available in India? What is the name of the medicine there? Is it named different there? I am taking 'Pariet' for stomach acid reflux and peptic ulcer treatment. Is it safe to use these tablets continuously for 1 year? I feel good comfort & results by using it.

A: This drug is know as Aciphex 20mg in the USA. It is called a proton pump inhibitor. I wouldn't think that it costs that much or there is a generic available in India. Their patent laws are not very restrictive. It works about the same as Prilosec 20 mg and that here in the USA is available for less than $10 for 30 capsules. If you suffer from peptic ulcer disease then I hope your doctor is checking you for the existence of Heliobacter Pylori. This bacteria lives in the stomach and is actually a common cause for gastric and peptic ulcers. The good news if you have this bacteria living in your stomach, it can be removed by taking specific combinations of antibiotics + Bismuth salts such as Pepto Bismol. The bad news is that if it exists and left untreated, it has been proven to be a leading cause of stomach cancer. The test for this is very simple and safe. Why I mention this is that you ask about the long term safety of the Pariet. It is relatively safe although there are some recent studies showing long term use causing worsening of symptoms. The long term safety of having H-Pylori is not good. I am not saying that that is what you have, only advising to make sure it is not the cause of your discomfort. Eradicating the bacteria makes the whole issue go away for good so it is worth investigating. It is always better to treat the cause than to mask the symptoms. That's all Pariet will do.

Q: How long does it take for "Pariet" to work and alleviate GI pain?

A: "Noni" juice is great for intestinal problems and lots of other things, too. Go to your local health food or whole foods store. Take about an ounce a day chased with orange juice! It taste awful! I travel a lot and can have "difficulties" in this department. Noni has changed my life!! It's a little expensive, but worth every dime!

Below i 've finded online instructions about Pariet : http://www.r-xlist.com/PARIET.html - Looks like no shipping in Germany...

A: Generally this drug requires a prescription. Be careful of buying any medication on line as you may not always get what you pay for (especially if they say that you don't need a prescription). Also, shipping from other countries (free or not) may be confiscated at customs.

Q: Are you allowed to take Pariet (Anti-Acid Medication) with Yasmin (Birth Control)?
do they cancel each other out or something Are you retarded, Sarah? If you don't know anything about these medications, don't answer. Both medications can become ineffective if they're taken with other medications. So STFU

A: Yep they cancel out. So you gonna be a parent now. ALWAYS use a condom AND pill. If not then you are just another dumb slut, and a dumb parent.

Q: I would like to know, "Pariet" should be taken before or after meal?

A: HI Yuyu, if you use this drugs for treatments - Active Duodenal Ulcer and Active Benign Gastric, you need one Pariet (10 mg or 20 mg) tablet to be taken once daily in the morning. Yuyu PARIET tablets should be taken in the morning, before eating; and although neither the time of day nor food intake was shown to have any effect on rabeprazole sodium activity, this regimen will facilitate treatment compliance. Patients should be cautioned that the PARIET tablets should not be chewed or crushed, but should be swallowed whole. Jason Homan

Q: What type of pains and how long do they last if you are having a heart attack or stroke?
I have small episodes of chest pain every 3 or 4 days. 29yrs old, high Cholesterol. Worry? Each episode last about 20 mins but the pain is only sharp for about 5-10 seconds at a time. I will have 5 seconds of pain in my chest and/or shoulders and then it goes aways and comes back a few minutes later. This continues to repeat itself 3-5 times in about a twenty minute span. I find a way to relax and then its all over for the rest of the day and doesn't come back again for several days. The pain is about a 7 out of 10. Kind of a tight pain. I am on Lexipro for anxiety/depression and Pariet for Gastric Reflux condition.

A: Click on the links below for signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke respectively, as well as when to seek medical help. Take care.

Q: about Pariet (heartburn control medication)?
I am on pariet, I have been for quite some time now, I used to take 10 mg tablets twice daily, I just recently got 20 mg tablets and swallowed 2 of them thinking it was 10 mg tablets, would this be a problem? oh pariet works fine, I was just wondering is it ok to take twice the amount of the dose like I did accidentally?

A: I wish I had seen this earlier ... your problem is probably solved by now. If something like this ever happens again, call your pharmacist. If it's late and your pharmacy is closed, call another one in the chain that's open late, or even another pharmacy will sometimes help. Make sure you ask for the pharmacist, some of the assistants will try to act like they know what they're talking about. But the pharmacist will be careful what they tell you, and if he doesn't know he will say so.

rabeprazole sodium 20mg

Q: Slight Chest Pain and Feel a Little Ill?
Hi All, Approx 6 weeks ago I had episodes of feeling nauseous and had slight chest pains... This would usually happen during the evening or after dinner... Happened around 7-8 times over a 6 week period. Went and saw GP earlier in the week and had ultrasound done to look for gall bladder stones but tests were clear for kidneys, liver and gall bladder. Also had C14 breath test for ulcer but havent got results yet. Have been prescribed Pariet which I take it is for the reflux. Felt ill again last night, just bloated feeling and today at work have slight chest ache. Not in the centre but more to the sides of my chest. its not painful but irritating. Has anyone experienced this or is it me making myself anxious as I keep thinking Im having heart attack or angina attack...

A: I have had several nasty bouts with acid reflux and I can tell you it feels like what I imagine a heart would feel like. The pain isn't always centered around my esophagus. Sometimes it radiates into my back. My acid reflux attacks are brought about by stress, so this is a real possibility for you. I only resort to drugs if the attack is very severe. Otherwise, I eat many small meals during the day. This seems to help with the full and bloated feeling. Also, I don't eat anything within three hours of laying down to sleep. Reducing my response to my personal stressors has helped the most. You might want to take a look at your life and how you react to all that goes on around you. Sometimes doing a simple thing like changing how you "talk" to yourself can help. Exchange the word anxious for anticipating, for example. Of course, your symptoms could have some other cause.

Q: Medication has a doctor any sugestions .I am told that I am on max medication .?
My clinical history is as follows 1982 Triple by pass of coronary arteries. 1996 Triple by pass ( same ones that were blocked again ) 1997 AAA repair . The last by pass opp was to get my heart in better shape to withstand the AAA. 2001 Diagnose Diabetes type 2. MY medication is as follows. Telmisarten 120mg per day. Carvedilol 50mg per day Nicorandil 40mg per day Diltiazem 240mg per day. Fruzimide 160mg per day Cloidogrel 75mg per day Diaformin 3 per day Glimepiride 1mg per day. Pariet for reflux 20mg per day Piroxicam for arthritis 20mg per day. Symtoms . I funtion satisfactory most of the time but suffer from constant fatigue , lack of energy , and sleepyness. I sometimes get angina mildly if I get up during night to toilet .spmetimes if I exert my self in the evening like wheeling out garbage bins or early morn. The angina responds to the nitro spray. At the time of my by pass grafts I was told that I was not suitable for stents or balloon angioplasty. I am 72 yrs male I hate taking all those pills and would dearly love to cut down, as it is I divide them up over the day. My last echo cardio showed no pulmonary hypertension. Thank you Jeremy , I already know all that you said , I have an exelent grasp of my condition and what the various meds are for , I see a cardiologist who just prescribes more pills ! When I told him how many pills I swallow per day his comment was " how gross " I also have left heart bundle block, had that for years. EF is 55%. I had small heart attack in 1981 with no visible muscle damage .

A: At the risk of suggesting yet another pill, there is a new class of antianginal on the market and the medication has the tradename Ranexa. I have used it with great success in 2 patients, and my partners (who jump on new meds more readily than I do) have had many patients do extremely well on it. The reason I suggest it is that it may allow you to cut down on some other medications, but it is very costly. Ask your cardiologist is he is familiar with it.
