Q: can one take rabeprazole and omeprazole both for acidity?
I have been suffering with hyperacidity with more than a year now. i have been on rabeprazole 20 mg every morning since a few months now.. but it hasnt been able to cure properly. Can I have a rabeprazole in the morning and one omeprazole before dinner?
A: You'd be better off calling your doctor. Tell him/her what's going on. The dose of the rabeprazole might be increased or a different med might be tried.
Q: can taking rabeprazole mask signs of cancer of the esophagus?
Watching Dr Oz today and he said that if you have acid reflux and are taking medications for it, the medication will stop the pain etc which can also mask any signs that cancer of the esophagus could be happening. Should I go off the medication for awhile to see if acid reflux is still a problem and if so, get checked for cancer.??
A: Rabeprozole, a class of the proton pump inhibitor drugs, is a commonly used medication to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease. The medicine will not ever mask any signs of cancer. What it is intended to do, along with prevent ulcer formation secondary to acid production, it to prevent the harmful stomach acid from being so prevalent that it causes changes in the lining at the gastroesophageal junction. Constant irritation at the GE junction will cause a transformation of cell from the typical squamous (flat) to columnar cells seen in the stomach. This transformation is known as Barrett's Esophagus, and is only able to be diagnosed by performing an upper endoscopy with biopsies. The medication is intended to prevent acid production and insult to the cells at the GE junction, therefore preventing cell transformation. So the short answer is that no, the medication cannot mask signs of cancer of the esophagus.

Q: Why do I need to take Rabeprazole?
I had a sprain in the MCL(right knee). I had nearly recovered when I had a fall again. Doctor advised me to wear braces for 2 weeks and prescribed Diclofenac Sodium tablets and Serratiopeptidase tablets. Perhaps these are pain killers? Are they? I was also prescribed Rabeloc 20 ( Rabeprazole ). I looked it up and found it is used to reduce production of stomach acids. Why would I be prescribed these?
A: Diclofenac is used to relieve pain and inflammation in a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, gout, sprains, fractures, back pain and following minor surgery.
Serratiopeptidase is a powerful anti-inflammatory.
The absorption of certain drugs may be affected by changes in stomach acidity, I'd guess the Rabeprazole is to tailor your stomach acid to complement the other two drugs and protect you from the indigestion they may cause (especially the Diclofenac).

Q: I am using RAZO-D(Rabeprazole Sodium and Domperidone SR Capsule) for hyper acidity from past 2 months.?
I am using RAZO-D(Rabeprazole Sodium and Domperidone SR Capsule) for hyper acidity from past 2 months.
Still there is no improvement in my health condition. I am not able to lead a happy day!! Please help me
A: depends on your doses and why you are taking domperidone, and why you are taking them anyway, omeprazole is more common and at doses of 20-40mg daily usually cuts acid production, have you been tested for helicobacter pylori or treated with metronidazole and amoxycillin combined? have you had a gastroscopy?
Q: Is 10mg twice daily of rabeprazole just as or more effective than 20mg once daily?
^
A: it depends on the patient. the drug is long acting enough to be taken once daily but i would prefer to take 10mg twice daily. when i take the entire dose in the morning, i sometimes have
minor heartburn after dinner. most people would be okay with taking 20mg once daily
Q: how can we get stable rabeprazole pellets?
these pellets are colour changed in few months
A: rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor anti ulcer drug.it is an unstable drug because of its hygroscopic nature and because it is unstable in acidic environment . to make it stable rabeprazole at the core is surrounded by water soluble inactive layer like hydroxy cellulose and enteric coated to make it stable in gastric environment.
Q: what is the precription medication in canada "rabeprazole sodium" used for?
A: This medication is used to treat duodenal (intestinal) ulcers, as well as conditions that cause extreme increases in stomach acid production (such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome), erosive esophagitis (severe, chronic inflammation or ulceration of the esophagus), and heartburn--both due to gastroesophageal reflux (backwash of stomach acid into the esophagus).
Q: can cummadin and orphenadrine citrate 100mg andnaproxen andaciphex rabeprazole sodium cause limp dick?
i have been usig the acid flex drug for three days and now im on mussle relaxer drugs
A: Those medications should not be causing that, none of them have effects on erection, the coumadin works on blood clotting, the orphenadrine relaxes skeletal muscle(none of that in your penis), naproxen is an antiinflammatory, and aciphex only works in your stomach, so i dont think its related
Q: Rabeprazole sodium?
Rabeprazole sodium?
doctor prescribed me it, and im 17 is it ok to take it?
my doc is on vacation and im having liver pains from taking it, and joint pains.
A: Although these are not noted side effects of rabeprazole (see source link below), I would suggest you stop taking it and see some other doctor as soon as possible. Don't wait till your doctor comes back.
If you can tolerate the heartburn or indigestion symptoms, it's fine to stop taking rabeprazole.
